Gigman iPhone application
Website & Application Summary: An iPhone application that prevents you from ever missing your favourite bands’ gigs.
Website: Unfortunately TicketMaster, who provided the band gig data feed for Gigman, decided that they were going to no longer make their data feed available to the public, meaning Gigman did not have the event data it needed to function, so this app is no longer on the iTunes App Store (I guess TicketMaster realised they were losing money making opportunities by making their datafeed publicly available so shut it down).
Date: October 2009
Expertise provided: Application and Database planning and development, Content Editing, Search Engine Optimisation
Technology used: WCF webservices, C# .NET, SQL Server 2008 database
Project Details: A personal project implemented as a result of my friends and my love for live music, Gigman is an iPhone application now available for purchase on the iTunes store which scans your iTunes library, detects your geographical position via GPS, and lists any upcoming gigs near your location for artists from your iPhones music library. My role in the project was to implement the .NET webservices that power the application as well as support for the Gigman product website.
Features: An iPhone application sold on the iTunes store, powered by backend web services and data feed integration.
